Student Scholarship

This is a $1,000 scholarship is for the Spring semester.  It can either go toward tuition or any other expenses (books, housing, food, etc.)

The recipient will be selected by the NWLA SHRM Board of Directors.  If selected, this scholarship recipient must not allow for their overall GPA to fall below a 2.5.

Selection Criteria

  • GPA of 3.0 or greater in their major: Human Resource Management, Business Management, Industrial Psychology, or Sociology 
  • Overall GPA of 2.5 or greater
  • Earned 60 hours or more of college level credit
  • Unofficial transcript
  • Essay Question
  • Minimum of 2 hours of volunteer/community service work

Essay Question

The essay question is different each year and will be determined by the committee before posting it to candidates.

2018 Question :  “As Human Resources evolves for the upcoming generations, what do you see becoming outdated trends in the field of Human Resources and which new or emerging trends are/could change the field of Human Resources?”

Please attach a Resume along with the above information by April 20, 2018 to be considered for the Scholarship.

 Disclaimer: This scholarship may not be given each year.  In order for this scholarship to be given, the NWLA SHRM Board of Directors must receive more than 2 scholarship entries, and the essay must:

  • Stay on Topic
  • Have An Introduction, Body, and coherent Conclusion
  • Use Correct Grammar
