Topic: Creating a Culture of Civility at Work

Marina Guerra is an Enforcement Supervisor with the EEOC- Houston District office. Originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, she attended Texas A&M- Corpus Christi and graduated with honors receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice. In 1999, shortly after graduating, Marina moved to Houston and was hired with the EEOC through a Scholastic Achievement program. She worked as an Investigator from 1999 through 2012, when she was asked to work a detail as an Acting Intake Supervisor. The opportunity to work in the same detail came available again in 2014, and Marina was asked to fill the position for a second time. She was officially promoted to the position in April 2014 and nine months later, was promoted to her current position, supervising a team of thirteen investigators and two support staff. Marina is very passionate about the work she does and is especially honored to carry out the Mission of the EEOC daily. Marina continually looks for ways to grow in her position and in addition to serving on multiple headquarter sponsored programs and committees, she is currently serving as the Diversity and Inclusion Council representative for the Houston District.
