About Scott
Scott Mastley is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Thread, where he oversees HR consulting services. Scott has 25 years of hands-on and leadership HR experience, and his goal is to simplify HR to support engagement. He loves helping small and growing businesses succeed. He lives in Georgia, has been married for 24 years and has two daughters in college.
Where was he before Thread?
HR found Scott when he was asked to launch the manager training
program for a multi-state company as it grew from 300 to 800 employees in 30 locations. The company culture was strong and supportive, and he grew to be the Director of Human Resources at one of Atlanta's top 100 private companies. Then, in 2003, Scott went into independent HR consulting. In 2010 he merged his business with an HR outsourcing company, which he, along with his partners, eventually sold to a large insurance company.

Scott was selected from 700 of the nation’s top business speakers, authors and trainers to be the featured leadership and performance management expert in The Leadership Journey for Supervisors & Managers. He holds the SPHR and SHRM SCP certifications and is a Double Dawg, with a Bachelor of Science in Education and an MBA from the University of Georgia.
He has spent the last 17 years building and training HR teams and working directly with hundreds of small and growing businesses.
